Night Vision

Driving at night can be dangerous in general. Whether you’re young or old, having anything other than 20/20 vision can be a nuisance. Trouble driving at night? Here are some tips to help keep you safe:

Keep your windshields and mirrors clean and free of streaks or debris. This will keep your windshield clear and give you better vision of the road.

Make sure your glasses prescription is updated every year. Even if you do not wear glasses on a regular basis, many people have trouble seeing at night and require glasses to drive. Checking with your local optometrist may help alleviate your nighttime driving anxiety.

Check your lights to make sure they are clean. Cleaning your lights takes off the residue that builds up over time. This will reduce haze on the road and make your sight more crisp and clear.

Avoid driving at night if possible. If you really do not feel comfortable driving at night, don’t. It will keep you and others safe. Catch a taxi, Uber, Lyft, or bus for nighttime transportation lieu of driving. Your safety is top priority!

Avoid driving on back roads, as they tend to not be as well-lit as main road or Interstates. They can also be more windy, and have animals prone to running out on the road. Use your brights if necessary. This is another reason keeping your lights clean is important.

Last but not least, have auto coverage that protects you and your loved ones at a great price. These tips are simple, but vital, and serve as a great reminder. Here at High Rock Insurance, your safety and well-being is our top priority! We pride ourselves in customer service and want to give you the best North Carolina has to offer.
