The month of March brings a lot of madness, and there are a lot of activities to do around the Piedmont area. From the ACC tournament that has appeared in Charlotte, springtime, and everything in between the time St. Patrick’s Day rolls around. Each year, 33 million people around the world participate in SPD festivities, North Carolina included! 56.1% of Americans celebrate SPD. In Chicago, they use 45 pounds of vegetable-based dye to turn the Chicago River green! And although SPD can be fun and games, it can also lead to some serious consequences if not celebrated safely. Here are some safety tips for St. Patrick’s Day:

1.     If you are going to one of the many events, and plan on drinking, designate a safe way home.

2.     Designate a sober driver for each activity you and you family or friends have planned. Take turns so you can all enjoy the fun!

3.     Use Uber, Lyft, public transportation, or even Taxis to get to and from destinations.
